Dr. Carla A. Miles is a motivational speaker, fashion designer, actor, and entrepreneur.
Arising from humble beginnings, Carla was born and spent much of her childhood in Louise, MS, working side by side with her mom, who worked at a catfish farm, and her stepdad, who worked on a plantation. From an early age, Carla showed a determined spirit, creativity, and a desire to support her family in the cotton fields and pecan patches. She spent early mornings and more than 12 hours a day working to support her family. However, Carla's creative side would not remain idle. She desired more for her life and wanted to explore her love for design. She worked extra odd jobs to earn money for materials and patterns she used to create "Carla Miles Designs."
At the tender age of 12, Carla moved several times before settling in Detroit, MI. Shortly after, she became a teen mother, which forced her to drop out of high school. With no plan and lacking financial stability, Carla set out on a quest to survive by all means necessary. After many years of struggle, tragedy, and heartache, Carla found the strength to change her life. On a mission to save individuals from prostitution and human trafficking, she took part in and spearheaded numerous charitable efforts to raise awareness.
In addition to her charity work, Carla committed herself to public speaking and launched a clothing line, as well as a vegan candle and cosmetics brand. Today, she continues to work on various projects and charity initiatives. As an anti-trafficking advocate and women’s empowerment coach, Carla thrives most when helping others.
